The Small Business Credit Survey (SBCS) is a novel data source for research on small businesses. At the same time, survey respondents are assured that their data will be kept confidential and anonymous. To support research while protecting respondent information, the SBCS team is developing restricted use files (RUFs) of SBCS microdata. All RUFs will undergo a disclosure review to remove identifiable variables and to ensure that remaining variables cannot be used to identify an individual respondent. Accessing the RUFs will require submission of an application, and subsequent submission of a signed Data Use Agreement (DUA) following application approval.
